The Nepean Belle Paddlewheeler, or 'The Belle' as she is affectionately known, was launched in October 1982 and run by the Wakeling family for 32 years. The boat's design was based on the Mississippi sternwheelers and was the last hull project built by De Havilland Marine at Homebush Bay.
With her classic red paddlewheels, stained glass windows, and old-world charm, the Belle has been a beloved part of the Penrith community since her launch. Locals, Chris and Carol Bennett purchased Nepean Belle in 2013. Chris had worked on the Belle when she first started cruising, and he and Carol are determined to continue maintaining the operation of this majestic paddlewheeler.
