General information

Can Fun Over 50 Holidays organise my travel insurance?

Travel insurance is not included in your tour package and we strongly advise you purchase a comprehensive travel insurance policy through an independent travel insurance provider.

How often are tour brochures released?

Our full colour brochure is released biannually in March and October of each year.

Are there likely to be changes to the tour itinerary?

The tour itinerary is a guide only, and although we will make every reasonable effort to adhere to the program, we reserve the right to make any alterations as necessary. If there are any changes to to your tour itinerary, we will let you know as soon as we're able to.

What is your cancellation policy?

Deposits, airfares, cruise and rail fares and extender options are non-refundable/non-transferable. We recommend that you take out appropriate travel insurance to cover such cancellation fees at the same time you pay your deposit. The final balance for domestic tours (unless stated otherwise) is 90 days prior to tour departure date - at this time, 100% cancellation applies. Please see each international tour for specific cancellation policies. Some festival and events may have differing cancellation policies, please see specific tours for terms and conditions.

Tour information

Who will be leading the tour?

Your Coach Captain and tour host are responsible for the overall running of the tour. Your Coach Captain is trained to deliver an interesting and entertaining commentary as well as making your feel safe and secure with their extensive on-road experience.

Your tour host is on board to ensure you enjoy a smooth, hassle-free holiday. On tours other than coach tours, your host will take the leading role in escorting your tour group.

What are the rules for alcohol and smoking?

The consumption of alcohol and smoking is not permitted on any transport. We have ample of stops along the way and we ask that you respect your fellow non-smoking guests and light up in an area away from the group. Please also note that smoking is not permitted in restaurants and other public places.

Will there be laundry facilities on tour?

The only chance you will have to do laundry is if you stay two or more nights in one place and get it done through the hotel service, if there is not a coin operated guest laundry.  If you don’t wish to use hotel laundry services, then we recommend packing enough clothes for the duration of your tour. You may like to bring a small portion of laundry powder with you to hand wash in your room.

How much luggage can I take?

A baggage restriction of 17kg per person applies on all coach tours (regardless of flight and rail allowances) due to our Occupational Health & Safety standards. You can also bring one small soft carry-on bag not exceeding 30cm x 30cm with a thickness of no more than 15cm that may be stowed in the overhead compartment.

When will I receive my tour documents?

Tour documents generally arrive to you 2 weeks prior to your departure date.

Can you cater for my dietary requirements?

In most cases, yes we can. We can accommodate guests who are vegetarian and can assist with diabetic, gluten-free and other medically-recommended diets. Please advise us at time of booking, and we can confirm with our suppliers and restaurants.

What is the average size of tour groups?

Our Gold Class coaches have a seat capacity of between 44 and 46, but we cap Gold Class tours at 40 guests per tour. Our Diamond Class tours have a capacity of just 26 guests. Other tour types may have different capacities, please get in touch with our team if you have any questions about a specific tour.

Fitness information

Can I take a walking frame on a tour?

Unfortunately, we cannot accommodate walking frames on our tours. Our transportation typically does not have the space to store a walker and all physical ratings require that guests must be able to get on and off transportation unaided.

Can I take a walking stick on a tour?

Yes, taking a walking stick on tour is perfectly fine as long you are able to meet the fitness rating for your chosen tour.

What happens if I book a tour with the wrong fitness level?

We discuss fitness ratings with all our guests as part of the booking process to ensure you book a tour that's right for you. If a guest has misrepresented their fitness level and cannot keep up with the tour activities, they be asked to return home.

What are the fitness levels?

Fitness levels are extremely important when selecting a tour.  Every Fun Over Fifty tour has a Physical Rating of 1 – 4:

  • 1 Easy
  • 2 Moderate
  • 3 Active/moderate
  • 4 Highly active
