The Man from Snowy River Bush Festival is an annual event, held over a week in the town of Corryong, 1.5 hours east of Albury, Victoria. Corryong is the final resting place of Jack Riley, said to be the inspiration for the hero in Banjo Paterson's much-loved poem. Each year, this small town of less than 1500 swells with visitors who join the locals in this vibrant celebration of Australian bush culture and heritage. 

The festival held each year in April draws competitors from across the country to compete in the exciting Man from Snowy River Challenge, where skilled riders navigate challenging obstacles, showcasing their horsemanship. There are loads of fun competitions, displays and activities including bush poetry, local artisan markets, and live music. There are historic displays, a ute muster, whip cracking, working dogs, and plenty of horse-riding events, all set in the beautiful High Country.

The Man from Snowy River Bush Festival in Corryong in Victoria’s Upper Murray region is a nationally acclaimed four-day celebration of Australian bush heritage. Inspired by the famous poem by Banjo Paterson, which captures the spirit of the bush and the legendary stockman, the festival has grown into a highlight on the regional calendar, attracting visitors from near and far.
