There’s Plenty to Explore around Bright

Day trips from Bright take in the aptly named Mount Beauty, surrounded by lush valleys and majestic peaks. Then it’s onto Bogong, a tranquil town with a timeless charm, and up to the Bogong High Plains.

Visit Wallace’s Hut, the oldest standing hut in the area, offering a glimpse into the challenging conditions of the early settlers. Along the way, keep an eye out for the elusive wild brumbies grazing or galloping in the open fields.

Bright tours include Sullivan’s Lookout – the perfect place to take in panoramic views over the High Country. Beechworth is an interesting town to explore and the renowned Beechworth Bakery, a must to visit!

Another great attraction is the picturesque The Red Stag Deer and Emu Farm where you can enjoy a gourmet lunch and learn about this fascinating farm. Yackandandah is a tongue-twister of a town, but worth a stop to enjoy the lovely scenery before returning to Bright.

Join the Bright Autumn Festival Celebrations

Bright and the surrounding areas have the ideal climate to put on the most spectacular Autumn display. The townsfolk have created the charming Bright Autumn Festival to celebrate the magnificent autumn colours and autumn produce of the valleys of Victoria’s Alpine High Country.

The ten-day annual festival runs from late April to early May and features a delightful market brimming with produce and creations by local artisans. Throughout the festival, the streets of Bright come to life with music and entertainment. The highlight is the festival’s Gala Day grand Autumn Festival Parade with its popular brass and highland bands and other local groups bringing the whole town out to watch and cheer!

The festival has grown over the years and now includes the Wandi Nut Festival, the fabulous Open Gardens trail, historical town tours and an Autumn Art Exhibition at the Bright Art Gallery. Visitors love to come, participate, and enjoy this heartwarming small-town celebration.
