Fly Carbon Neutral to Cairns, where we are met and make our way to Kuranda Village for some time to browse the famous markets and enjoy the local produce. Then regroup and board the Kuranda Scenic Rail. Our journey takes us through the ancient rainforests, dramatic gorges, and UNESCO World Heritage listed landscapes of Queensland’s tropical north. A spectacular train journey, running 23 miles passing through an impressive 15 tunnels and across 37 bridges, the railway affords panoramic views of the Barron Gorge National Park. We transfer from Freshwater Station to our accommodation.

Departing Cairns this morning we board our luxury ‘Gold Class’ coach and travel responsibly knowing all emissions are 100% offset. We travel via the picturesque Atherton Tablelands arriving at Woodleigh Cattle Station enjoying a cuppa on arrival. We join the Waddell family for a real insight to station life. We take a tour through the original homestead built in 1876 and learn how hard life was for Queensland’s early settlers. Discover the journey the cattle take to get from paddock to plate. Then it’s time to relax with lunch in view of the giant 100 year-old bougainvillea. Back on the road we head to Mount Surprise breaking here for a stretch and refreshments before finishing our day at Georgetown.
Departing Georgetown, we break for a morning cuppa on the banks of Croydon’s Lake Belmore. We visit Diehm’s Lookout and the popular True Blue Information Centre before enjoying lunch in Croydon. We continue on, stopping at the ‘Purple Pub’ for a drink with the locals, before making our way to Karumba.
Enjoy an enlightening journey at the Barramundi Discovery Centre, where you’ll delve into the intriguing world of barramundi fish. Later, step aboard a sunset dinner cruise and glide through the Gulf’s pristine waters. As the sunsets, relish Gulf prawns, beer, wine, and bubbly while absorbing the breathtaking Gulf sunset. This magical experience offers both culinary delight and stunning views, making it the perfect culmination of a day filled with discovery and natural beauty in the Gulf region.
This morning we travel to Blackbull to board the Gulflander for a scenic rail journey through the Gulf Savannah bushland. We disembark at Croydon, enjoying lunch before continuing on to Georgetown to visit the Ted Elliott Mineral Collection, a stunning collection of over 4500 specimens. Our next stop is Forsayth, where we enjoy a drink with the locals before transferring into Cobbold Gorge, one of Far North Queensland’s natural wonders.
Begin your day with an exhilarating helicopter flight, where you’ll soar above the breathtaking expanse of the Gulf Savannah region. Experience the awe-inspiring beauty of this unique landscape from the air. Next, venture across the glass bridge and embark on a serene electric-powered boat cruise through the gorge. Glide in near-silent tranquility, minimising disruptions to the local wildlife. Enjoy a delicious lunch and unwind in the idyllic ambiance of this stunning location. Relax by the infinity pool and soak in the beauty that surrounds you, making the most of this picturesque setting.
Departing Cobbold Gorge we arrive at Forsayth to join the Savannahlander rail journey to Einasleigh to explore the Copperfield Gorge and enjoy lunch. We continue by train to Mount Surprise, then transfer by coach to Undara, checking-in to beautifully restored turn of the century railway carriages or pioneer huts.
Start your day with a distinctive bush breakfast, setting the tone for an exceptional morning. Afterward, team up with a knowledgeable local Savannah guide for a truly unforgettable journey through the Undara Lava Tubes. These ancient lava tubes, created over 190,000 years ago by seismic forces and preserved as natural marvels, are a component of the most extended lava flow ever documented from a single volcanic crater in recent geological history. In the afternoon, your adventure continues as you traverse the picturesque Atherton Tablelands enroute to Cairns, soaking in the scenic beauty of this captivating region.

Heron Island is a National Marine Park situated in the southern end of the Great Barrier Reef. This area is a significant nesting location for two threatened sea turtle species, the Green Turtle and the Loggerhead Turtle.
Our over 50’s tour to Heron Island is in the height of baby Green and Loggerhead Turtle hatching season. During hatching season, turtle hatchlings will erupt from their nests between 25 to 50 metres from shore and make their way to the reef, just beyond the water’s edge.

Our coach tours have a baggage restriction of 17kg per person (regardless of flight and rail allowances) due to our Occupational Health & Safety standards. You can also bring one small, soft carry-on bag not exceeding 30cm wide, 30cm high, and 15cm thick that may be stowed in the overhead compartment.

Our Gold Class coaches have a seat capacity of between 44 and 46, but we cap Gold Class tours at 40 guests per tour. Our Diamond Class tours have a capacity of just 26 guests.
