Departing Brisbane Coach Terminal aboard our 100% carbon offset luxury ‘Gold Class’ coach, relax as the city gives way to forest pockets and views of the Glass House Mountains. On arrival at Noosa Habitat, enjoy a relaxed morning tea before boarding our private Everglades eco cruise. Glide through mirror-calm waters framed by paperbarks and river reeds, and discover why this is one of only two everglade systems on Earth, a tranquil haven of pristine wilderness and abundant birdlife. Returning to Habitat, savour a delicious lunch before settling into your Paperbark Glamping Tent.
This morning, we farewell the tranquillity of Noosa Habitat and enjoy a leisurely scenic drive north. Watch coastal bushland transition into wide-open grazing country and historic townships. Crossing the Tropic of Capricorn, we enter Rockhampton, the proud Beef Capital of Australia, look out for the iconic bull statues as we arrive. We check in to our accommodation before coming together later for a relaxed dinner.
Today we venture east to the beautiful Capricorn Coast for our island escape on Great Keppel Island, home to 17 pristine beaches. After a short ferry crossing, we’re welcomed into the island’s relaxed atmosphere before joining a guided Glass Bottom Boat cruise to view vibrant marine life and coral gardens. Enjoy a beachside lunch with stunning coastal views, then check into our accommodation with free time for a swim or snorkel. As the sun sets, we come together for a relaxed island-style dinner.
This morning, we are honoured to take part in the Woppaburra Bina Tali Cultural Experience, a newly cocreated cultural journey developed in partnership with the Woppaburra Traditional Custodians, Fun Over 50 Holidays and our on-island hosts, Great Keppel Island Hideaway. Guided by senior male and female Woppaburra cultural representatives, this immersive experience offers a meaningful connection to the living culture, stories and landscapes of Great Keppel Island. Beginning near the Hideaway, we follow an easy, flat loop track through island bushland, learning about traditional bush foods, plant uses and cultural knowledge. The walk continues to Wa wa gan ba (Putney Beach), where guests participate in a gentle, structured water ceremony symbolising respect and connection to Country. We then gather in a shaded yarning area among the dunes to enjoy light refreshments and storytelling, before returning to the Hideaway via the beach. This afternoon is at leisure before coming together for sunset trivia and themed signature island cocktail, the perfect way to reflect on a culturally enriching day and embrace island life.
This morning, we farewell island life and cruise back to the mainland to rejoin our luxury Gold Class coach. We travel the scenic Capricorn Coast, passing ocean vistas and seaside townships, with a stop at Emu Park to view the iconic Singing Ship overlooking Keppel Bay. Continuing south, we divert into Gladstone for a relaxing waterfront lunch at the Gladstone Yacht Club. We then make our way to the turtle region of Mon Repos, for our two-night stay.
After breakfast, we visit Monsoon Aquatics Coral Farm for an eco-guided tour showcasing cutting-edge coral restoration and vibrant coral species up close. We then continue to the iconic Bundaberg Rum Distillery for a guided tour, tasting and museum visit. Following a leisurely lunch, we stop at Tinaberries Strawberry Farm to sample their fresh seasonal produce. Returning to our resort, enjoy some free time before gathering for a memorable farewell dinner.
This morning, we begin our homeward journey pausing in the charming township of Childers for a cuppa and a reflective visit to the Palace Backpacker Memorial. We continue south, stopping to enjoy a relaxed lunch before making our way back to the Brisbane Coach Terminal, where we farewell new friends and conclude our memorable tour.
