Join your tour host and depart late-afternoon on the Spirit of the Outback for an incredible view of Queensland’s captivating outback. Our journey takes us through the heritage towns of the Central West.
This epic rail journey arrives into Barcaldine early afternoon where we disembark and visit the Tree of Knowledge. We then board our opulent ‘Diamond Class’ or luxurious ‘Gold Class’ coach, ensuring responsible travel with 100% offset coach emissions. We venture on to Longreach where we check-in to our accommodation. Tonight we experience dinner followed by the Luminescent Longreach light and sound show at Qantas Founders Museum.
Our morning begins with a guided Museum and Airpark tour at the Qantas Founders Museum. Our next destination is the renowned Australian Stockman’s Hall of Fame. Here, you’ll be treated to a live Outback Stockman’s Show, featuring working dogs, horses, sheep, bulls, and a charming stockman who embodies the outback larrikin spirit. As the day winds down, we enjoy a relaxing sunset cruise along the Thomson River. The evening continues with an outback dinner and show, set beside a crackling campfire under a canopy of twinkling outback stars.
Travelling to Winton we spend time at the Australian Age of Dinosaurs, the world’s largest collection of unique Australian dinosaur fossils and the most productive fossil preparation lab in the southern hemisphere. Enjoy lunch and a guided tour taking in the Fossil Preparation Laboratory and Collection Room and March of the Titanosaurs exhibition at Dinosaur Canyon. Our afternoon takes us to the Waltzing Matilda Centre.
We farewell Longreach this morning before stopping at Swanvale Lookout. Near Jundah, see The Native Well used for centuries as a valuable water source by Aboriginal people. We’ll break for lunch at Windorah’s Western Star Hotel, a classic outback pub, before travelling to Toogunna Plains Farmstay, a 4th generation sheep and cattle property. We’ll stay one night in beautifully presented, ensuite cabins. Late afternoon, we enjoy a Kyra Sandhill Sunset tour celebrating the glorious colours of the Channel Country with sunset drinks and canapés overlooking the rolling red landscape.
Join our hosts on a station tour today for an insightful look into the unique challenges and joys of living on the land. This afternoon, we visit the Eromanga Natural History Museum, to meet Australia’s largest dinosaur from some 95-million years ago. Enjoy sunset drinks and canapés on the Museum’s spectacular outdoor pavilion. Then savour an exclusive ‘Taste of the Outback’ long-table dinner in their multi-million-dollar Reception Gallery.
This morning we’ll visit the opal town of Quilpie before arriving in Charleville. We tour the Outback Date Farm with a knowledgeable farmer, exploring the lush date plantation and savouring the delectable fruits. Next discover the history of Hotel Corones on a guided tour. It’s a classic rags to riches story dating back to the pioneering days of Australia, it’s a story filled with the humorous comical antics of Harry Corones, tales of rich and famous who have all graced the bar and stayed at the hotel. The day unfolds with a unique encounter with Australia’s endangered Bilby, as we gain insights into their crucial role in maintaining ecosystem balance. We finish in Roma, renowned for housing Australia’s largest cattle saleyards.
Today we make our way back to Brisbane, breaking at Toowoomba for lunch with a view. We arrive back to the Brisbane Coach Terminal late afternoon.

Heron Island is a National Marine Park situated in the southern end of the Great Barrier Reef. This area is a significant nesting location for two threatened sea turtle species, the Green Turtle and the Loggerhead Turtle. Our tour to Heron Island is in the height of baby Green and Loggerhead Turtle hatching season. During hatching season, turtle hatchlings will erupt from their nests between 25 to 50 metres from shore and make their way to the reef, just beyond the water’s edge. Our coach tours have a baggage restriction of 17kg per person (regardless of flight and rail allowances) due to our Occupational Health & Safety standards. You can also bring one small, soft carry-on bag not exceeding 30cm wide, 30cm high, and 15cm thick that may be stowed in the overhead compartment.

Our Gold Class coaches have a seat capacity of between 44 and 46, but we cap Gold Class tours at 40 guests per tour. Our Diamond Class tours have a capacity of just 26 guests.
