Merry Christmas! This morning, following breakfast and a special Christmas message, we set off to explore the stunning natural beauty of Waterfall Way at Dorrigo. Our adventure begins at Griffiths Lookout, where we take in sweeping panoramic views, before heading to the Skywalk at Dorrigo National Park for a thrilling perspective above the treetops. We return to Lookout Mountain Retreat just in time to change into our Christmas attire for a festive long lunch. Indulge in a delicious feast featuring fresh seafood and traditional Christmas favourites, all while celebrating in great company. This afternoon, take time to unwind and soak in the breathtaking mountain and ocean views, or join the crew for some fun and friendly games on the lawn.
Today, we journey to Coffs Harbour, where our first stop is the Clog Barn, a charming Dutch-themed attraction. Here, we indulge in traditional Poffertjes (Dutch pancakes) for morning tea, watch a fascinating clog-making demonstration, and explore the Dutch Village and gift shop. Next, we visit the Coffs Coast Wildlife Sanctuary, a renowned marine park and rescue centre dedicated to marine conservation. We enjoy a private behind-the-scenes tour, gaining insight into their vital work in wildlife rehabilitation and conservation efforts. A highlight of our visit is the Dreamtime Dolphin Show, where we marvel at the intelligence of dolphins and seals, laughing at their playful antics. Before departing, enjoy some free time to explore the park's other marine exhibits at your own pace.
Lunch is at your own expense today at the sanctuary.
We share one final breakfast before beginning our journey home. Bidding farewell to beautiful Dorrigo, we travel along the spectacular Waterfall Way, pausing at Ebor Falls. Here we enjoy a gentle 360-metre loop walk to an impressive, cantilevered lookout, soaking in sweeping views of the majestic cascade as it plunges into the gorge below. Continuing on, we pause for a cuppa at the Glen Innes Standing Stones before entering Queensland's celebrated Granite Belt. We enjoy a leisurely lunch and wine tasting at award-winning Ballandean Estate Wines, savouring the region's cool-climate varietals and warm country hospitality, surrounded by rolling vineyards and crisp mountain air that perfectly complement the day's scenic discoveries. We arrive back to the Brisbane Coach Terminal late afternoon, bringing our unforgettable festive holiday to a close. Purchase Local Produce
