Our flights arrive into Sydney where we board our third-party coach and transfer to King Street Wharf. Here we board our harbour view lunch cruise for an afternoon gliding past waterside landmarks including the Sydney Opera House and Sydney Harbour Bridge. Back on land we board our luxury ‘Gold Class’ coach, and make our way to the Southern Highlands.
Today, we begin with a private tour and animal encounter at the Australian Wildlife Sanctuary, where you’ll get an up-close experience with native wildlife. Afterward, we head to Centennial Vineyards for a delightful two-course lunch. Following lunch, we visit the iconic Bradman Museum & International Cricket Hall of Fame, and explore the legacy of cricket before returning to the Briars Country Lodge to relax for the evening.
Experience the magic of the annual Highland Gathering Festival in Bundanoon, where the town transforms into Brigadoon for a day. This event stands as Australia's premier Scottish Highland Gathering, infused with a touch of Aussie flair. The festivities include a captivating street parade featuring marching pipe bands, clan societies, and creatively decorated floats, not to mention the awe-inspiring Tartan Warriors. Additionally, you'll discover a vibrant marketplace with specialty craft, souvenir, and food stalls. As you soak in the vibrant atmosphere, enjoy the sounds of massed pipes and drums, and watch the highland and Scottish country dancing. The day is packed with a range of traditional and unconventional highland games, including the hay toss, shot put, caber toss, kilted dash, egg throwing and water toss. Lunch is at your own expense today.
Today we travel up into the Blue Mountains taking time at the Three Sisters lookout for a photo opportunity. We then make our way to the iconic Hydro Majestic historic hotel where we enjoy the grand tradition of a high tea surrounded by elegance and charm whilst enjoying spectacular views of the Megalong Valley. Later we take a guided tour of the Casino Lobby, Majestic Ballroom and Pavilion. Our afternoon takes us to Bathurst where we take a lap of Mount Panorama Circuit (subject to no motor racing events being held) before finishing our day at Mudgee.
This morning we visit Gulgong Pioneers Museum, home to a comprehensive array of domestic tools and utensils, farm and mining equipment, horse drawn vehicles, early photographs, Aboriginal and geological artefacts, periodic clothing and buildings dating from Gulgong's heyday during the turbulent Gold Rush days of the 1870s. From here our afternoon takes us to Coonabarabran for lunch before we continue via Narrabri to Goondiwindi.
This morning enjoy a Goondiwindi town tour and tour of a local cotton farm before traveling onto Toowoomba for lunch at Picnic Point. We arrive back to the Brisbane Coach Terminal late afternoon. Local Guide Immersion & Education
