Backing the Outback is a special purpose-led, non-profit recovery journey created to bring visitors, spending and confidence back to Outback Queensland communities impacted by floods, cancellations and reduced visitation. Fun Over 50 Holidays donates the Gold Class coach, fuel and crew support, while guests prepay their accommodation to Fun Over 50 Holidays and then pay-as-they-go for meals, attractions, shopping and personal purchases in the towns visited. The hosted journey includes overnight stays in Roma, Charleville (two nights), Toogunna Plains Farmstay (including accommodation, meals, station tour and Kyra Sandhills sunset tour), Thargomindah, Cunnamulla and St George, with additional stops supporting more communities along the way.
