We are staying up to date with all Government advice and regulations to ensure we are able to protect our guests, our team, and the community.

We have initiated enhanced hygiene and cleaning practices as well as social distancing policies where practical. Our aim is to prioritise your health and well-being while ensuring that your travel experience is in no way compromised

Safe Booking Guarantee

If COVID-19 government-imposed travel bans restrict the operation of the tour, 100% of funds paid can be held as future holiday credit (with Fun Over 50) less any irretrievable costs such as, but not limited to, airfares; less 3rd party operator fees/charges. Refunds are payable less administration fee of $150pp and any 3rd party irretrievable costs (terms and conditions apply).

We are proud to be a COVID Clean Practising Business. We work under the guidelines of the Queensland Tourism and Accommodation Industry as approved by the Chief Health Officer of Queensland.

Seating plans

We are taking social distancing very seriously and have designed a plan so our guests travelling on our bespoke coaches will be based on Government distancing guidelines and requirements.

We are very proud of our custom built coaches that offer very generous leg room, meaning better spacing for our guests compared to many other touring coaches. Although our coaches range from 26 maximum guests on ‘Diamond Class’ to 48 maximum guests on our ‘Gold Class’, we are only taking 22 guests on our ‘Gold Class’ and 13 guests on our ‘Diamond Class’, with a map of a coach seating plan to comply with our Health Risk Management plan and Government social distancing requirements. Having high backs on our luxurious leather seats actually act as a physical barrier.


We’ve always prided ourselves on our fastidious cleanliness practices, but these have now been taken to the next level with all coaches being hygienically misted after each and every tour. The misting treatment is non-toxic and is used in hospitals, restaurants and doctors’ surgerys. Our coaches are then closed for 48 hours for treatment to finalise. This treatment will now stay as common practice moving forward.

Our coaches during a tour program will have increased disinfection and will be thoroughly wiped down daily on all surfaces including but not limited to handrails, seats and seat belts, toilets and overhead lockers. Our coaches will be stocked with masks if any guest would like to be provided one. Upon entry and disembarkation, a touchless sensor sanitising station will be present on all Fun Over 50 coaches.

Staff training

Fun Over 50 has engaged an accredited training facilitator to conduct a workshop for all staff (office and on-road crew) to attend, so we can be at the forefront of best practice and create a consistent framework for all staff to follow. Key elements we are focusing on are:

  • Understanding COVID-19 supplier restrictions and protocol
  • Maintaining personal and work hygiene practices specific to reducing cross-contamination of COVOD-19 with correct cleaning and sanitising methods
  • We are also undertaking the COVID-19 CLEAN Practicing Business module as outlined by Mater Health and Queensland’s Chief Health Officer


We have re-arranged tour programs with all 3rd party suppliers including but not limited to attractions; hotels and restaurants. We will endeavour to have in writing a confirmation from them that they are compliant with Government distancing requirements re hygiene practices and social distancing before our tours visit these suppliers.

Guest health

We’re going the extra mile to ensure your health and wellbeing going forward. All guests will have to fill out our newly developed Guest Health Declaration Form which will be posted out to all guests in your tour documents prior to travel. All guests will also be tested prior to boarding each and every day with infrared non-contact forehead thermometers. We’re proud that these practices have been added to our Health & Well-being, and Illness & Injuries Policies so that our future travellers can rest assured that their safety is at the forefront of our minds.

To all of our dedicated Fun Over Fifty guests,

Further to our email sent out on 23 March 2020, we wish to advise that we are experiencing a high volume of calls and that the phone lines are now direct again. Since sending this email on Monday, we have been unable to individually call all guests and apologise if you have been waiting on us. The purpose of that call, was to ensure you had received our email.

We are still working our way through all the tour suspensions and are in direct contact with all suppliers involved. Until we have advice from all suppliers, we are unable to confirm the outcome.

Rest assured, we will be in touch, it is just a lengthy process and we wish to give each tour group our full attention.

We sincerely apologise for this situation, unfortunately it was unforeseeable to all of us.

To all of our dedicated Fun Over Fifty guests, we thank you all for your patience at this time. Our office has understandably been inundated this week with phone calls and emails from concerned travellers.

The safety and wellbeing of our guests and employees is of our highest concern during this time of uncertainty. At Fun Over Fifty we are continuously monitoring the evolving COVID-19 situation and following each updated government guideline where applicable.

Tour cancellations are only occurring at the present time, on tours where the festival/event has cancelled, or the tour operators are ceasing operation. All guests booked on cancelled tours have been contacted directly by our reservations team. Most of these tours were scheduled to depart in March and April.

We will of course continue to monitor this evolving situation. If any further information comes to hand or restrictions changed, we will communicate this with those guests affected. General updates will be posted on the Coronavirus page of our website, as well as on our Facebook page.

From management down, we are maintaining a sense of calm about this constantly changing situation. Our priority, as always, is in making sure that our guests and staff continue to travel comfortably, safely and worry-free on our tours.

We continue to uphold our high hygiene standards and all coaches are equipped with non-touch forehead thermometers, along with masks (which have always been available on our Fun Over Fifty branded coaches) and hand sanitiser. We adopt high standards in cleaning our coaches, including cleaning and disinfecting all surfaces, handles, tables and armrests. We are even going as far as calling in professionals (CSI style), engaging them for a non-toxic misting/fog treatment on all Fun Over Fifty coaches after every journey. This treatment is used in kitchens, doctor’s surgeries and hospitals. Rest assured you are travelling with a company that ensures best practice.

We are also fine-tuned to the health of our on-board guests in accordance with our strict ‘do not travel’ policy relating to illness at departure or during a tour.

Our promise to you during these unprecedented times is that we will continue to follow advice from government advisories, maintain open lines of communication with industry partners, and make decisions with the health and wellbeing of our guests at the forefront of our minds.
